Reporting to the IT Operations Manager, Avigilon is seeking a capable, dynamic, experienced, and highly qualified IT Systems Administrator to be a key member of our IT Operations team. This role will be responsible for supporting IT Operations and Infrastructure to help ensure the operational stability of enterprise servers and services. This includes the configuration, maintenance and availability of the server infrastructure used by clients and internal staff.
Service-Desk administration (using LanDesk). Programming and updating workflows as appropriate, producing reports for IT management and staff.
Administration for Windows server infrastructure, including Active Directory, Group policy, printer management, and file server permissions.
Coordinates Systems and Applications upgrades with appropriate departments and team members.
Provide ongoing maintenance, support, and some design of Active Directory and Group Policy Management.
Assisting with management of Avigilon data center facilities and vendors.
Administration of corporate Box.com file sharing account.
Server and client patch management using WSUS
Perform backups and ensure recoverability of servers. Experience in one of or both of EMC Networker and Zerto; Creating/updating documentation of build, backup and recovery procedures. Periodic testing of disaster recovery procedures, and updating documentation.
Provides Tier II-III level staff support.
Use of corporate anti-spam solutions and administration of policies (McAfee), and Exchange email administration through 3rd party provider.
Works with Manager IT Operations and other Systems Administrators to define project and operational needs and prioritize accordingly.
Work with IT staff at Corporate and Manufacturing sites to implement, enhance and monitor corporate network security and systems standards.
Mentoring, training and supporting Service Desk staff in IT Operations and any new IT services introduced.
May supervise professional staff in the form of vendor/partners and/or contractors.
3-5 years Information Technology experience working in an enterprise environment (500+ staff) with an emphasis in Systems Management and server Administration
Experience with ITIL, Incident, Problem and Change Management.
Familiar with Enterprise Storage systems and SAN administration, including fiber channel, CIFS and block based data provisioning using EMC (VNX)
Experience with centralized administration and policy management for client and server anti-virus (McAfee), as well as systems drive encryption.
Familiarity with Linux (Ubuntu, RedHat) and Linux administration.
Comfortable in provisioning servers and administering resources and performance in VMWare ESXi, Vsphere and Operations Manager.
Ability to influence others to achieve results.
Identifies and responds to staff needs and determines solutions.
Recommends appropriate technology to meet corporate data security needs.
Communicates clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing.
Ability to: prepare meaningful, accurate and concise reports, stay abreast of current technologies in area of IT responsibilities assigned, define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions, provide technical advice, guidance, and recommendations to management and other technical specialists on IT issues.
Excellent troubleshooting skills.
Must be available for 7×24 support in the event of scheduled and unscheduled downtime.
Ability and initiative to learn about new technologies, hardware and software products and relate to how the new services would benefit the enterprise.
Must be able to adapt to a fast-paced, multi-faceted environment with numerous interruptions
