An impressive new opportunity is available at one of our Edmonton Dealerships for an outgoing General Sales Manager .

The Automotive General Sales Manager is the leader of the Dealership’s Sales Team. They are responsible for building and supporting a team of highly productive Sales people that can achieve sales and revenue growth expectations and provide a high standard of customer service. This individual will plan, organize, direct, mentor and evaluate sales staff, ensure compliance with Company policies and procedures. The Automotive General Sales Manager is directly responsible for developing a passionate, customer-focused sales team that achieves repeat business through the development of strong relationships and by regularly exceeding customer expectations. Additional duties will be assigned as necessary.

Job Duties

  • Plan, direct and evaluate the operations of the New and Pre-Owned automotive Sales personne l
  • Develop and implement monthly promotional strategies
  • Provide Sales Representatives with up to date product information
  • Plan and implement sales-incentive programs
  • Plan budgets and authorize expenditures
  • Address customer inquiries and complaints
  • Encourage the development of lasting client-dealership relationships
  • Provide expert sales and negotiation support to all Sales Representatives
  • Assist junior sales staff with negotiation, closing of deals
  • Liaise with finance, service and other departments to help facilitate sales
  • Determine staffing requirements and hire or oversee hiring of staff
  • Create and maintain a high level of morale and enthusiasm
  • Set and manage the achievement of monthly team and individual sales targets
  • Build and retain an effective team of Sales Representatives
  • Provide coaching and mentoring to the sales team
  • Measure the activities of each sales representative to assure that their marketing activities will produce intended sales production
  • Implement and execute the company’s marketing strategy and business plans
  • Complete monthly formal reports of Sales team performance
  • Review analysis of activities, costs, operations and forecast data to determine department or division progress toward stated goals and objectives

Skills and requirements

  • A minimum of 5 years’ experience in automotive dealership sales managemen t
  • High School Diploma, G.E.D or equivalen t
  • Current AMVIC (Alberta Motor Vehicle Industry Council) Licens e
  • Must be able to demonstrate exceptional leadership, management and communication skill s
  • Result focused and detail orientate d
  • A passion for customer service and automobile s
