Job Description / Mission

This internship is to give exposure to a technical support specialist in training. As a technical support intern at Atlas Copco, you will have the opportunity to put in to practice all the theoretical knowledge related to your field of study.

Paid Internship

Schedule: Full-time

Length: 4 to 6 months

Responsibilities

Reporting to the Technical Support – Team leader, the Technical Support Intern will be responsible for:

Field Support

  • Provide day to day support to the Field organization
  • Problem solve any technical issues that may occur
  • Communicate technical updates to the field
  • Maintain the various databases and documentation related to the products (Ex: ECBs and FNS)
  • Handle all ECB notifications (Booking and follow-up)
  • Document technical specifications and changes
  • Ensure proper documentation is provided to field technicians and clients
  • Assign calls from the ticketing system
  • Work on stocking policies for new equipment
  • Chart and analyze equipment or product failures

Quality Assurance

  • Ensure all returned products are sent, received and inspected for analysis
  • Document quality-related complaints from end users
  • Forward questionable products for analysis
  • Process warranty claims when valid and ensure that customers are advised when complaints are not warranted

Other

  • Perform special studies and carry out special assignments, as required by his/her supervisor
  • Comply with the organizations environmental, health & safety, recycling, sustainability efforts and quality assurance policies and standards.

Experience requirements

  • Minimum of (1) to (3) years’ experience dealing with customers and distributors.

Knowledge / Educational requirements

  • College degree / technical education degree / University degree
  • Strong technical background preferably materialized by an Engineering Degree (electro-mechanical)

Skills and abilities:

  • Fluency in English and French, both spoken and written is a must
  • Good Communication skills to deal effectively with employees within all departments, as well as with customers and distributors
  • Ability to plan and organize effectively and establish priorities
  • Strong problem-solving skills in dealing with issues
  • Strong sense of urgency (time management) to handle timely the many activities
  • Team player with excellent interpersonal skills
  • Knowledge of MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint), and Lotus Notes
