The Asia Pacific Foundation of Canada (APF Canada) is looking for a Database Specialist based in Vancouver, BC. Reporting to the Vice-President of Development and Corporate Affairs, the Database Specialist will be responsible for the maintenance, administration and support of APF Canada’s Raiser’s Edge database and NetCommunity.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Performing data input, conducting system updates, importing and exporting data, and ensuring data quality and integrity is maintained;
  • Managing user access and system privileges, generating queries, reports, dashboards, mailing lists and invitation lists to support the organization’s events and fundraising activities;
  • Managing online registrations and producing daily reports to the event planner;
  • Managing online donations and e-receipts, issuing tax receipts, and reconciling with the accounting department;
  • Maintaining, inviting, and supporting publication subscribers, including technical support and system troubleshooting;
  • Working with all staff to ensure all new contacts, events, and donations are imported into the Raiser’s Edge database;
  • Recommending and implementing database management best practices;
  • Maintaining relations with Blackbaud, establishing training programs and manuals, training staff and assisting with donor research as needed;
  • Managing the Foundation‘s IT and office equipment needs;
  • Performing other duties as required.

Qualifications:

  • Undergraduate degree or post-secondary diploma in a related field or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience;

  • Three to five years of Raiser’s Edge and NetCommunity administrative experience;
  • Confident, enthusiastic, organized and innovative.

Requirements:

  • Knowledge of Raiser’s Edge administration systems. Excellent computer skills, including proficiency in NetCommunity or similar CMS. Knowledge of related database systems and web development; HTML, CSS and JavaScript.

  • Tact, professionalism, and the ability to handle confidential materials with discretion and attention to detail;
  • A team player with the ability to work efficiently under pressure and maintain priorities with changing deadlines.
