Art Gallery of St. Albert (AGSA), with Arts and Heritage St. Albert, has an exciting opportunity for a skilled, creative and enthusiastic individual. This part-time position supports artistic achievement in St. Albert and surrounding areas by maintaining and strengthening the Gallery’s visual identity, through online and offline communications.
Working as part of the Arts and Heritage Marketing department and reporting to the Director/Curator of the Art Gallery of St. Albert, the position is an interim one-year contract (maternity leave coverage) with a three-month probationary period.
The position will begin on Jan 3, 2017.
Duties include:

  • Designing all print and web assets for the Art Gallery of St. Albert
  • Planning, capturing and editing Gallery promotional videos
  • Managing the Gallery’s social media accounts
  • Maintaining and updating the Gallery website
  • Assisting with the coordination for annual Artwalk St. Albert
  • Assisting at the Gallery with event and exhibitions as required

Ideal Candidates Possess:

  • Post-secondary degree or diploma in graphic design (training in art education and fine arts an asset)
  • Minimum three years of professional design experience
  • Training in basic video editing and filming
  • Experience in website development (html and css)
  • Proficiency in Adobe Photoshop, Adobe InDesign, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Premiere, WordPress and Microsoft Office
  • Knowledge and experience with printing processes
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Excellent problem solving skills, highly creative with strong attention to detail
  • Strong organization and planning skills
  • Understanding of copyright laws and ethics

Work Schedule:

  • 20 hours per week
  • Occasional evening and weekend work required to support Gallery activities
