Artika is a home furnishing design company experiencing very high growth. It manufactures, distributes and sells a wide array of electrical, plumbing, floor and wall surfaces, and organizational products in North America, Asia, and Europe. Artika sells its products through superstores known worldwide. Product research in Asia is a key to its international success. Its head office is in Montreal, Canada, but it also has offices in Toronto, as well as in Shanghai, Ningbo, and Jiangmen.

Plans and directs activities concerned with the establishment and/or continuance of quality related requirements and other quality programs.
Plans and coordinates and executes internal quality activities and ensures optimization of the CAPA (Corrective Action / Preventive Action) system within the facility and with external customers.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities Typical for Most Positions: (Job’s essential or most important functions and responsibilities. Include all important aspects of the job — whether performed daily, weekly, monthly, or annually; and any that occur at irregular intervals.)

  • Coordinates activities within the organization in support of quality-based requirements.
  • Coordinates and as required performs Domestic Quality Control activities.
  • Coordinates and as required performs inspection and analysis of Final Customer Returns and Bulk Retailer Returns and recommends corrective action.
  • Coordinates the CAPA (Corrective Action / Preventive Action) system, driving internal and external issue resolution, working jointly with Artika Asia QC Manager.
  • Serves as secondary point of contact for documentation of Artika Dorval Quality processes. Acts as principal liaison to support the documentation process related to product inspection documentation (Inspection Sheets).
  • Acts as primary Canadian liaison for customer quality issues such as audits, product testing (example: TRF Process).
  • Acts as principal coordinator for Customer-driven Factory Audits.
  • Organizes and maintains online QA/QC folders.
  • Assures data availability and integrity for all quality related data. Consolidates and reports quality results.
  • Supports QA/QC Director activities as required.
  • All other tasks as assigned by the QA/QC Director.

Education / Experience: Typically requires a Bachelor degree or equivalent experience and training. Typically requires a minimum of 2 years of related experience.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

  • Demonstrates operations and technical skills and understanding of Artika’s product standards.
  • Has awareness of the functional impact of work processes and other functions on product quality.
  • Ability to perform data entry, using Microsoft office software (Word, Excel, Powerpoint).

Language/Communication/ Interaction Skills:

  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from Artika staff.
  • Able to present, organize and convey problems or issues across departments as well as across different Artika sites. Interacts primarily with department members.
  • Discusses and presents factual information.
