Purpose: Coordinate all marketing and sales aspects of AMSSA’s provincial Safe Harbour: Respect for All program

Reports to: Safe Harbour Coordinator

Classification: Contract

Safe Harbour: Respect for All is a long-standing, award-winning program within AMSSA that provides diversity training and certification to storefront businesses, institutions and organizations. About the Position:

We are looking for an innovative self-starter who can provide effective marketing and communications to ensure that the Safe Harbour: Respect for All program continues to grow in recognition throughout B.C. and Canada. The Safe Harbour Marketing and Sales Coordinator will possess a strong background in sales and marketing, as well as knowledge of diversity and inclusion and social enterprise development. Responsibilities include development, implementation and management of marketing tools and resources, coordination of Safe Harbour workshops, and other administrative duties.

Duties:

  • Development and implementation of marketing plan
  • Development of promotional and marketing tools and resources
  • Market and sales of products to different sectors / communities/businesses across BC
  • Maintain and update all social media platforms
  • Research and write e-newsletter and blog posts
  • Research sponsorship opportunities
  • Organization and coordination of all workshops and webinars
  • Development of online registration and payment systems
  • Oversee and process all registrations, payments, etc.
  • Provide support to workshop facilitators and participants
  • Develop and maintain client management database
  • Develop fee for service structure
  • May include other duties

Qualifications:

  • Post-secondary education or certification in marketing and sales
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in marketing and/or communications
  • Experience developing, managing and implementing strategic marketing and communications plans
  • Knowledge of or experience in business development
  • Experience with public / media relations
  • Experience in event coordination
  • Experience in database administration
  • Experience working with different stakeholder groups
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent active listening, interpersonal and communication skills
  • Excellent time and resource management techniques
  • Well-developed organizational and administrative skills
  • Computer Literacy – Microsoft Office, Adobe Creative Suite, Social Media Platforms, WordPress, Database Management Tools
  • Knowledge of diversity and inclusion

  • Proven business development and sales experience

Conditions of Employment:

  • Contract dates: July 13, 2015 – March 31, 2016
  • Hours of Work: Full time ( 35 hours a week)
  • Salary: $26.27/hour
  • Eligible for benefits after three months
