The Service unit of Alstom Grid is currently seeking a Field Service Supervisor
. The position is located in Calgary. The successful candidate will report directly to the Field Service Director. In collaboration with the client and the engineering group this candidate would be responsible to perform the commissioning of substations and provide support on all equipment (i.e. breakers, disconnects, transformers, P&C relays, CT, PT, etc.). He will also train and support his colleagues and the client’s employees in performing this task.
More specifically the Field Service Supervisor will have to :
1-Test, and commission electrical apparatus and protection & control equipment/system in transmission substations;
2-Building, testing, and commissioning of utility protection & control;
3-Equipment/systems according to general instructions and established standards;
4-Conduct the installation, commissioning, and operation of utility protection & control equipment /system in transmission substations;
5-Complete turn-over package, test forms, as built drawings accurately and on time;
6-Troubleshoot problems with electrical equipment and/or systems, analyzes failures and completes reports;
7-Resource planning, equipment and time for commissioning, repair and/or construction.
•Graduate of a 2 years Electrical Technology program from a recognized technical institute such as SAIT or NAIT;
•Demonstrated safe work skills and commitment including knowledge of safe work and job planning procedures;
•Excellent knowledge of equipment and controls that are typical for a utility substation environment;
•Effective interpersonal, communication, and troubleshooting/ problem solving skills with the ability to work within strict deadlines;
•Valid class 5 motor vehicle operator’s license;
•Requires travelling more than 60% on short notice on odd schedule
