Position Summary

The Senior Manager of Human Resources is a new position that reports to the Chief Operating Officer and plays an active role on the senior management team. The Senior Manager of Human Resources is responsible for the development and management of corporate programs for hiring, retaining and development of employees in compliance with company vision, culture and business objectives. All-Fab operates in the three fastest growing provinces in Canada so being effective and implementing managerial best practices is imperative to successful planning and making All-Fab an employer of choice in its sector.

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Work directly with the Senior Leadership Team to ensure that employee management initiatives successfully align with the achievement of business plans
  • Align Human Resources management activities and development with company vision, culture and business objectives
  • Establish a high level of communications, collaboration and support for Branch Managers in the planning and execution of their HR requirements
  • Direct ownership of the hiring and development of senior managers and executives
  • Provide mentorship and career development for Human Resources team members
  • Develop and manage HR budgets within approved plans
  • Evaluate, Develop, Implement and Maintain:
  • Employee hiring practices (locally to internationally, recruiting consultants, etc.)
  • Employee policy manual
  • Employee compensation programs (pay structures, vacation and leave of absence, etc.)
  • Employee benefit programs (healthcare, pension, education support, etc.)
  • Employee performance evaluation programs (probationary, annual and corrective action)
  • Employee career development programs (education, training, career planning, etc.)
  • Employee communications programs (surveys, newsletters, grievances etc.)
  • Company Cultural programs (events, awards, etc.)
  • Company Human Resources Information System (HRIS)
  • Government Regulatory Compliance and Relations (Regional to National, WCB, Labour Boards, etc.)
  • Participate as a key member of the Health and Safety Committees
  • Develop a total rewards strategy to attract and retain high performing team members

Selection Criteria

  • Bachelor’s Degree, equivalent educational credentials or accreditation.
  • Minimum of 10 years of Human Resources management experience with companies of at least 150 employees.
  • Experience with companies that have employees in multiple operating locations.
  • Demonstrate a strong business acumen and ability to discuss and implement broad strategic business issues with all levels of management.
  • Demonstrated experience developing and implementing HR programs within program scope.
  • Experience evaluating and successfully implementing an effective HRIS.
  • Familiar with company level ERP or General Accounting programs and the relevant interfacing with HR processes and systems.
  • Familiarity with Industry Standard Skills training requirements.
  • Familiarity with applicable Regional, Provincial and National labour law and regulations in all jurisdictions applicable to the company.
  • Demonstrated experience with HR Best Practices and Continuous Improvement programs.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and communication both written and verbal.
