Job Category: Full time, 35 hours/week (Monday to Friday) Evening shift (12am to 8pm) Job Description: – Starts the run and follows the run performance to promptly identify possible problems; – Monitors instrument performance throughout the injection to perform troubleshooting, system interruption, and batch re-injection procedures and intervenes where necessary; – Performs specific instrument optimization by FIA on mass spectrometers, optimization on HPLC UV/FL; – Is responsible for appropriate column care (e.g. maintenance, rinsing, replacement); – Performs quantitative drug determination of biological samples using specific methods of extraction (SPE, LL, PP, preparation for TFC), all in accordance with general standard operating procedures (SOP) and good laboratory practices (GLP) regulations when needed; – Performs pre-validations and validations as needed; – Performs baseline integration after completion of batch injection as needed; – Generates tabulated data (regression and associated paperwork) and performs initial batch evaluation for acceptance/rejection as needed. Desired profile: – College degree and/or University degree in Chemistry or equivalent field; – Experience in the medical and/or pharmaceutical fields with typically 5 years of pertinent experience; – Attendance and/or positive outcome of the LC-MS/MS Technique course and/or LC-MS/MS Optimization course; – In depth knowledge of mass spectrometry; – Has demonstrated leadership ability, possesses sense of urgency and is capable of prioritizing, also has strong decision-making skills in a timely manner.
