We’re hiring a Member Service Officer!
Would you describe yourself as a people person, and often find yourself going the extra mile to help others? You might have what we’re looking for to join our team as a Member Service Officer. The position is responsible for building strong relationships with our members, and providing deposit, investment and basic lending services. The Member Service Officer will often take the time to sit down with our members to open their accounts, discuss their needs and understand their future goals.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is looking to grow their career in Financial Services and has knowledge of investment products such as Term Deposits, RRSPs, TFSAs, RESP and RRIFs and basic industry lending practices.

Key Responsibilities Reporting to the Assistant Branch Manager, the Member Service Officer is responsible for gaining a deep understanding of members’ individual needs and shares their knowledge of effective money management, budgeting, saving, and basic investment strategies to help members achieve their financial goals.

A Day in the Life
While providing exceptional service and building strong relationships with members, day-to-day activities can range from:

• Opening and maintaining memberships and accounts
• Opening and maintaining non-registered and registered investment accounts
• Processing credit card and overdraft protection applications
• Providing administrative support when necessary
• Volunteering in the community

Qualifications

• Minimum of three years of experience in the financial services industry, preferably with one year of Member Service Officer level experience
• An individual with experience plus education and /or training equivalent to three years will also be considered
• Education and/or training could include a certificate or courses in investments, lending, service and sales, accounting, or business administration
• Experience with providing exceptional customer service, previous sales exposure, demonstrated financial awareness
