The Team Lead for Protective & Parking Services performs a team leadership role within the Protective & Parking Services department and reports directly to the Protective & Parking Services Manager. This position is responsible and accountable for providing the direction, team leadership and organization over the activities of the Protective Services Team in support of the vision, mission and business plan of Alberta Health Services. The position is responsible and accountable for making unit-level decisions and having direct leadership responsibility for contributing to the achievement of the goals of Protective Services. Team Lead is also responsible for documentation of all safety and security related incidents, including review of incident reports completed by his or her front-line staff.

All Management and Out Of Scope positions are being reviewed for possible inclusion in the AUPE General Support Services bargaining unit. If this position is impacted, the incumbent will be notified accordingly.

Qualifications:

– Must successfully attain and maintain appointment as a Community Peace Officer I by the Alberta Solicitor General.
– Successful candidate must have successfully completed the P.A.R.E. within the previous 6 months.
– Valid Basic Cardiac Life Support – Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP) Level C required.
– Minimum Grade 12 required.
– Two years post secondary education in Security, Law Enforcement or Criminal Justice preferred.
– Must provide current minimum Class 5 Driver’s abstract issued within the last 30 days.
– Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
– Minimum two years of security related experience, preferably in a health care environment.
– Certificate in Verbal Judo an asset.
– WHMIS training preferred.
– By-law enforcement experience preferred.

12 hour shifts; 7 shifts/2weeks rotation.

As per out of scope salary schedule.
