Reporting to the Manager, HR Systems and Reporting, this is a key position which serves as a liaison between the AHS Human Resources Department, AHS HR Shared Services and third party technology providers. This position provides both systems support and analysis to leverage technology solutions to meet the needs of HR Shared Services, AHS HR and all users of AHS’ HR management systems (PeopleSoft, Recruitment Management System and eRecords). This position also leads a team of HRMS Analysts who are responsible for assessing needs for various business functions, assisting various business users on and assisting management in identifying and analyzing options and recommending business process enhancements.

Major Accountabilities:

  • Liaise with business owners and third party technology providers on a weekly basis to gather business requirements and assist department staff with technical and functional issues related to the use of HRMS systems
  • Prioritize work requests and schedule work within team and across HR Shared Services to meet critical deadlines
  • Provides project oversight from design through implementation on multiple system enhancements and configuration requests.
  • Identifies, tracks, monitors and communicates on project-related issues, scope changes, variances and contingencies that occur during the course of projects
  • Monitors project work to ensure that progress is maintained within expected guidelines and is completed on a timely basis
  • Creates test scenarios and assists project team members in performing tests to ensure system and process changes are in accordance with requested specifications
  • Provide after hours support during pay processing and implementations as required
  • Manage a team of Analysts to ensure compliance of system changes to provide Operational and Business needs
  • Provides leadership and mentorship to team of HRMS Analysts which includes managing performance and knowledge transfer
  • Involvement in entire life cycle of PeopleSoft HR/Payroll implementation, including functional design, custom configuration, testing, documentation and post go-live reporting and support
  • Provides first line PeopleSoft support to HR Shared Services staff, troubleshooting problems, finding resolutions, recommending changes or escalating calls to the external service provider or senior HR leadership as necessary

Qualifications:

  • Strong functional knowledge of PeopleSoft with a focus on Payroll for North America and Time and Labor modules
  • Minimum of eight (8) years demonstrated experience within the last ten (10) years as a Business Analyst in a PeopleSoft HRMS environment
  • A university degree in Business, Computer Science or Engineering or the equivalent combination of education and experience demonstrated by progressively more responsible roles or positions
  • 8+ years experience in working directly in an HR application support in a HR Shared Services environment
  • Experience working with a large , complex, and unionized HR/Payroll processing organization is an asset

Demonstrated successful experience is required in:

  • Conducting business requirements analysis activities
  • Developing impact analysis
  • Developing functional, application and process strategies, solutions and plans
  • Developing test strategies, planning and executing test phases
  • Assessing implementation readiness (organizational, application, support)
  • Proficiency in MS Project, Excel, Publisher, Word and Visio
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, able to work effectively with all levels of the organization
  • Ability to present ideas, negotiate, facilitate and problem solve
  • Excellent leadership and negotiating skills
