As a Pharmacy Technician I, you will be responsible for the preparation and distribution of pharmaceutical products. You will receive and triage medication orders, compound and repackage medication and prepare sterile and non-sterile pharmaceutical products.

Required Qualifications:

Completion of a CCAPP-accredited Pharmacy Technician Training Program. Active or eligible for registration with the Alberta College of Pharmacists (ACP) as a Pharmacy Technician.

Additional Required Qualifications:

Prior hospital pharmacy experience including but not limited to patient order entry and verification, certified for final product checking, sterile compounding, drug distribution such as ward stock, inventory medication management and procurement. Demonstrate proficiency in the following: Communication (verbal and written), interpersonal abilities, organizational and problem solving skills, ability to work independently and in teams as required, computer skills, continual personal quality improvement and lifelong learning.

Preferred Qualifications:

Previous clinically deployed hospital related experience is an asset. Experience with Meditech software and rural hospital processes is preferred. Alberta Health Services Checking Certified in the last 2 years. Certified in sterile compounding within last 2 years; 2 years + experience in the last 5 years with sterile compounding preferred.
