This posting is for 5 open positions that will be taking schedule lines in the soil sort area.

Responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to, the collection and preparation of soiled linens for processing and the operation of laundry equipment for washing and drying linens. This position is also involved in the inventorying and supply of linens to user departments. This position is physically demanding and the work will include: pulling, reaching, twisting, squatting, and lifting. Some heavy lifting is involved with this job and candidates must physically be able to perform the required tasks. This position will provide relief coverage for any Laundry positions when required.

NOTE: 5 positions available

Qualifications:

– The successful candidate must possess a grade 10 education or equivalent.
– One to three years of experience handling and sorting soiled linen in an institutional laundry is an asset. This area is a highly productive area and quantity and quality of sorting is an asset. The ability to trouble shoot, good judgment, problem solving and work planning.
– As this position must communicate regularly with other members of the laundry staff, strong interpersonal skills and a good command of English both written and verbal are required.
-This position must be able to work in any area of the plant from soil sort, washers, cart makeup, packroom, inspection, cart delivery, dryfold, housekeeper, take clean linen to the units and soiled linen back, ride up and down elevators and use long flights of stairs.
– This position will work mostly day and weekend shifts depending on the work schedule.
