Under Supervision, as a Housekeeper, your prime responsibility will be to ensure a clean environment for clients and staff of AHS-operated facilities. Paying attention to detail, you will complete duties that may involve general cleaning and disinfecting, collection of waste and recycling materials, regular and project floor maintenance duties, as well as tasks related to maintaining furnishings and draperies. Periodically, duties are required to perform project cleaning of floors, walls, ceilings, lights, vents, and windows. You will be required to operate industrial cleaning equipment, after on-the-job training is completed. The ability to initiate and safely perform routine and scheduled cleaning tasks throughout the facility, in accordance with established standards and infection control practices, is required. You will be expected to accept shift assignments, and to ensure regular work attendance and timely reporting for start of shift. As directed, you will cover the duties of co-workers as required.

Essential job tasks require standing for long periods of time, upper body push/pull movements, waist-level lifting, hand movements that require wringing and wiping motions, frequent gripping of equipment, and visual sharpness.

Qualifications:
A grade ten education is essential. Must be physically fit, able to follow written and oral communication in English, and demonstrate positive interpersonal relationships. The ability to work with minimum supervision is required. Recent hospital or nursing home housekeeping experience is preferred.
