Required Qualifications:

Completion of Grade 12 or equivalent. Knowledge and operation of Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel.

Additional Required Qualifications:

Health care experience with completion of a medical terminology course or course to be completed within 3 months of hire. Computer experience and experience with an Admission/Discharge/Transfer program, preferably Meditech. Must possess and demonstrate strong interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to work under very little supervision as well as work effectively in a team environment. Able to maintain poise under pressure, be able to prioritize and organize work in a fast paced environment. Demonstrated ability to interact in a positive manner. Must have a proven record of maintaining privacy and confidentiality with sensitive information and situations. Accurate keyboarding skills; testing will be administered during the recruitment process, only candidates who achieve 40 wpm (corrected for errors, max 5 errors) will proceed to the interview phase. Must be able to provide clerical services for Health Records. Must be physically able to perform duties involving sitting, standing, bending, walking and stretching for extended periods of time. Must be able to read, write, speak, and communicate effectively using the English language.

Preferred Qualifications:

Medical Office Assistant course (or equivalent). Switchboard experience. Basic knowledge of accounting.
