Reporting to the Program Manager of Vocational Programs and working closely with Occupational and other Mental Health Therapists, you will assist clients with mental illness to optimize their level of functioning according to their goals and aspirations. You will be responsible for planning, implementing and evaluating the vocational rehabilitation or social program(s) you are assigned to. Program area is the Apparel Shop offered at Alberta Hospital. The successful candidate will possess a wide range of specific programming skills as well as have good knowledge of the rehabilitation needs of mental health clients. Tasks include teaching clients with varying levels of functioning, new skills and facilitating program participation; program preparation activities such as ordering supplies, maintaining inventory, conducting task analysis; as well as completing clinical documentation and communicating with clients’ treatment team. Customer service, product promotion and sales and marketing may also be required.
Successful completion of grade 12 is required. Preference will be given to those who have a degree or diploma from a Therapist Assistant or Rehabilitation Practitioner program. Basic Cardiac Life Support – Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP) Level C and a class 5 driver’s license are required. Previous programming experience in a mental health setting is required.
