You will manage the review and implementation of processes in tandem with the Manufacturing, Distribution, Quality Control, Health & Safety and Warehousing departments. You lead the implementation of excellence standards and due diligence, which will be reviewed regularly to ensure the changes and improvements are achieved over the long term. Also, you keep yourself up to date on technological advances/changes. In addition, the Business Improvement Manager:

• Is in charge of implementing standard performance indicators, making sure the departments use this tool for managing their operations daily ;
• Is the continuous improvement team leader for various activity sectors;
• Heads improvement projects to increase overall operational efficiency for the units he is assigned to;
• Chairs inter departmental and other meetings to discover new opportunities for improvement, track performance and quality indicators, and implement action plans;
• Will coach various supervisors, lead hands, etc. on process improvement initiatives.

Requirements

• Bachelors degree in Food Technology, Food Engineering, Operations Management or a related discipline, preference will be given to applicants with an MBA;
• Minimum seven (7) to ten (10) years relevant experience, preferably in the manufacturing sector;
• Capable of working in a computerized and automated environment;
• Sound command of microcomputing software;
• Good decision making skills combined with the ability to work autonomously;
• Capable of developing operations management utilities, and also developing and implementing tools designed to support the decision-making process;
• Some experience/knowledge of LEAN Manufacturing techniques would be an asset;
• Previous Coaching or teaching experience would be an asset.
