Reporting to the Mine Maintenance Supervisor, the Temporary Special Assignment Wash Bay Operator in the Mine Maintenance Department, overall accountability is to ensure that work is carried out safely and efficiently.

Specific responsibilities will include:

  • Working safely in a mining environment and able to follow the procedures and policies that are in place.
  • Washing mobile equipment in the wash bay, getting mobile equipment clean and up to standards.

Qualifications of the position include:

  • High School Diploma
  • Interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a labor intensive team environment.

This position is located at the Agrium’s Vanscoy, Saskatchewan, Potash Mine facility. Vanscoy Potash Operations (VPO) is located approximately 33 kilometers southwest of Saskatoon.

VPO produces four sizes of high quality potash for shipment to markets around the world. The ore body is one kilometer below the surface. An extensive network of underground roads takes workers to the mine faces and various shops. This operation directly employs over 600 people in both the surface and underground operations.
