Agnico Eagle operates the Meadowbank open pit mine in Nunavut since 2010. The Amaruq satellite deposit, 50 kilometers northwest of the mine, is an advanced exploration site that could extend the mine life of Meadowbank and is currently in the permitting phase, with a potential 2019 start up. Also in Nunavut, Agnico Eagle owns the Meliadine Project, a fully permitted advanced development project with a potential start-up in 2020. In addition to activities at these various sites, a number of support staff also work from offices located in Val d’Or and Mirabel, Quebec.
The General Maintenance Planner reports to Supply Chain Manager and works in close collaboration with Maintenance team members, as well as members of the other departments. The incumbent ensures the good maintenance practices of the team under his / her supervision in terms of the preventive, corrective and modification maintenance, as well as playing an important role in the organization and follow up of the performed maintenance duties. The General Maintenance Planner ensures goals and objectives are attained, while promoting and respecting Agnico Eagle’s company culture, Health & Safety Code of Conduct and the environment.
Endure the all preventive maintenance is done on schedule and properly recorded in the maintenance program;
Review work order requests with Planners, General Supervisor and Operations department for planned corrective maintenance and review the weekly schedule with the Planners;
Ensure the maintenance, modifications, cleaning and safety of the kitting area as per procedures;
Ensure that work is being performed and procedures followed in accordance with Health, Safety and Environment regulations;
Ensure the inventory for critical parts
Apply best practices, for day to day, cost control of department;
Assist the Superintendents with the preparation of the departmental budget and ensure that budget is respected;
Review the best practices in term of Key Performance Indicators (KPI) for the department, assist Superintendent to establish targets, build KPI reports;
Assist Manager to assign and organize objectives/targets for employees; and evaluate performance the end of the year;
Plan, organize and facilitate the safety meetings and follow up on prior actions;
Collaborate with the Manager to assess the training needs for the department and organize the training for the employees;
Maintenance Technician/Technologist, Certified tradesman, or a combination of education (graduate of college Maintenance Program) and work experiences; Engineering degree will be considered an asset.
5 years of underground or open pit mining equipment maintenance planning related experience;
Combination of 10 years’ experience in the mechanical/electrical discipline;
Knowledge of mobile, electrical, & stationary equipment including shafts and hoists;
Proficiency in maintenance planning using computerized maintenance software; JDE experience would be considered an asset.
Experience in predictive maintenance utilizing oil analysis, vibration analysis, & ND testing.
Cost and budgeting skills;
Cultural awareness and understanding of work in the Canadian Arctic is an asset;
Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team;
Must have good organizational skills, problem solving ability and familiarity with maintenance terminology.
Excellent working knowledge of all Microsoft Office software especially Outlook, Excel, Word & PowerPoint;
Advanced English language skills, written and spoken;
Schedule: Monday to Friday work week, with frequent travel to Northern sites as required; position will be based in Mirabel or Val d’Or office.
