Electrical technicians & Mechanical Assemblers – 6 months contract

Location: Mississauga, Ontario, Canada

Agfa Graphics is a world leader in prepress solutions for the commercial, newspaper and packaging printing industries. In addition, we are quickly expanding our assortment for the fast-growing market of industrial inkjet printing with the development of state-of-the-art printers and inks for applications such as billboards, packages and decoration.

Our Mississauga, ON location is expanding, and we are looking for Mechanical technicians and/or Electrical Assemblers , to join our production team.

In this position, you will be directly involved in the manufacturing of our wide format Jeti line of inkjet printers. In this role, you will:

  • Be responsible for a broad spectrum of tasks involved in the subassembly and final assembly of products
  • Assemble, fit and install prefabricated parts to form subassemblies or finished products.
  • Position, align and adjust parts for proper fit and assembly
  • Fasten parts together using fastening and joining equipment
  • Assemble or connect electrical components
  • Check subassemblies, check mechanical assemblies and subassemblies for alignment and proper functioning
  • Clean machines (exterior and interior), and maintain a clean and safe work area
  • Perform detail assembly using schematics and other written instructions
  • Participate and effectively communicate with team to increase efficiency and prevent safety issues

Qualifications

  • 3 to5 years related experience in a manufacturing environment preferred
  • A good general technical and mechanical mindset
  • Experiences using hand tools (screwdriver set, light hammer etc)
  • Technical problem solving ability and ingenuity
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Must have good manual dexterity and attention to detail
  • Able to handle varied activities – ongoing multiple and simultaneous projects in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to stand for extended periods
  • Ability to bend, crouch, or kneel
  • Flexible to work overtime
