The ADOPTIVE FAMILIES ASSOCIATION OF BC is seeking a temporary Fulltime Project Lead for their Young Adult Services website www.AgedOut.com. The position will begin in November and is funded until March 31, 2017, with a strong likelihood of a long-term extension.

Responsibilities include daily site administration, marketing and promotion, and curriculum/content development. You will be the face of the site and will be responsible for engaging youth users and building community-based partners and professional users. You will also lead a youth engagement model that ensures youth input, evaluation and decision making, encourages youth leadership both online and offline and extends involvement across the province.

Preference may be given to qualified candidates with lived ‘youth in care’ and aboriginal experience and/or with experience in adoption and/or fostering. Aboriginal applicants are encouraged to apply.

Education & Experience:

  • 2+ years of website design and management.
  • Undergraduate degree in a relevant discipline (e.g. information technology, business, project management, social work related etc.), or equivalent education and experience.
  • 1 -2 years of demonstrated project coordination experience ideally in the information technology area
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience working with youth (ideally youth in or from care)
  • 1-2 years of volunteer management experience.
  • Experience with Drupal (or similar content management systems) is an asset

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • 2 years of experience with curriculum development, with an emphasis on e-learning strategies.
  • Familiarity with the social services sector.
  • Demonstrated understanding of program evaluation, research techniques and information technology analytics.
  • Demonstrated administrative, financial management, record-keeping and reporting skills.
  • Excellent relationship building skills; demonstrated ability to work with multiple stakeholders.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Excellent computer knowledge and experience including Microsoft Office Suite and custom online learning planning & reporting tools.
  • Ability to work independently and as a team member.
  • Demonstrated ability to comply with policies and procedures regarding privacy, confidentiality etc.
