Department of Physics Assistant Professor

Position # 21002 – The Department of Physics seeks to fill a 9.5-month contractually limited position at the rank of Assistant Professor effective August 1, 2015. Applicants must possess a Ph.D. by the date of appointment with a commitment to excellence in research and undergraduate teaching. We seek a candidate who has the flexibility to teach in a range of areas, both theoretical and experimental. Teaching in the Department of Physics takes place in a technology enriched environment, supported by a significant laboratory component. Physics degree options include honours, major, co-op and joint physics major – certificate of applied science programs. Current research interests in the Department are in the areas of solid-state and subatomic physics. Experiential facilities available in the Acadia Centre for Microstructural Analysis include STM/AFM, FTIR, SEM, TEM, NMR, ICP-MS, XRD, optical and laser scanning confocal microscopes. Cluster computing facilities are also available within the Acadia Centre for Mathematical Modelling and computation.
