Job Duties:
Assist with project management & record keeping & administration & budgets
Assist with logistical planning & data collection & data analysis
Assist with providing guidance & supervision to researchers on the research team;
Assist with organizing 3 major strategic planning sessions: Regina, Saskatoon, & Prince Albert
Assist in report writing
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will possess a bachelors degree in a related field (i.e. degree in social sciences – psychology, sociology, native studies or another related discipline)
A combination of relevant research experience and post-secondary education will be considered
o Well-developed research skills with the ability to compile information, write proposals and reports
o Experience conducting research and community discussions with experience establishing relationships with Aboriginal communities, elders and working with the Aboriginal community
o Must have knowledge of ethical practices related to working with Aboriginal peoples
Candidate must have exceptional oral and written communication skills
Well-developed verbal, written, interpersonal, cross-cultural and relationship-building skills
Knowledge of Aboriginal culture and history is an asset
Ability to work independently, demonstrate initiative, perform job duties in an accurate and timely fashion
Ability to work with others including developing and maintaining networks
Proficiency with computer technology (including Microsoft Office Word, Excel and PowerPoint)
Skills and Requirements:
Hold a valid driver’s license and clean driving record
Present a current CPIC
