24 HR Animal Care Centre is currently seeking a full-time Veterinary Assistant to commence immediately. This position will lead into a full-time Receptionist position in the fall. As an AAHA accredited practice, we provide high-quality care to all of our patients and are looking for individuals who can help us do just that. The successful candidate must have a strong work ethic, a desire to learn, and the drive to succeed. The applicant must be friendly, personable, reliable, punctual, and possess excellent written and oral communication skills.

Assistant duties include maintaining cleanliness of the clinic and patient care (walking, feeding, etc). Advanced assistant duties include assisting with various procedures (bloodwork, x-rays, preparing for surgical procedures, assisting in emergency situations, etc). Our Receptionists also play a vital role in our practice and are responsible for greeting clients and addressing their needs, booking appointments, invoicing, and much more. There are many opportunities for advancement within our hospital.

Being a 24 hour clinic, shift work is a mandatory component of our business. As such, the candidate will need to be flexible and open with their availability as their shifts will fall during days, evenings, and weekends. The shifts are generally 12 hours and may vary anywhere from 7am to midnight, on a rotational basis.
